Aloha ~

Take your shoes off, come in, relax.

Take a mini-vacation as you share our memories from our 3 1/2 years in Hawaii.

You are arriving on the island of Oahu ~ "The Gathering Place".

Beyond the wing is the "reef runway",
and Diamond Head is visible in the distance.

Strolling along Waikiki Beach, you see familiar sights from travel brochures.

This is the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, the second oldest on Oahu.
We were fortunate enough to stay here for our last weekend in Hawaii.
Although it is a wonderful and historic place, by the time we left,
Bill commented that it really reminded him a lot of Pepto Bismol!
I 'm sure I'll never want to decorate with the color pink!

A tour of the Arizona Memorial is a priority for most visitors,
and it is something that shouldn't be missed.
But there is much more to Hawaii than most tourists ever know!

There is rich history to be discovered in these islands.
There are proud people here who will gladly share their knowledge
and aloha with those who respect their heritage and care enough to learn.

There is rugged beauty that is beyond my limited capacity
for description. The photo above is of Kaena Point.
Unaccessible by vehicle, it is reached by taking a 6-mile hike.
Below is a photo of the coast of the island of Kauai.

Hanauma Bay is the most popular snorkeling spot on Oahu,
but we preferred Shark's Cove on the North Shore during the summer.
During the winter, 20-25 foot waves are common along the North Shore,
which is famous for Waimea Bay and the Banzai Pipeline.

Sea turtles are seen often, in fact, there is a beach near Kona
on the Big Island where you can swim with them. They are endangered,
and therefore protected, as are the humpback whales which winter in Hawaii.
